Behind the Binding: Peter Turnley’s “Paris Je t’aime”
Photographer and OPC member Peter Turnley will give a presentation and sign copies of his new book, “Paris–Je t’aime – 50 Years of Photographs”, at the Leica Store and Gallery in the Meatpacking District on Dec. 13 at 11:00 a.m.
The book gathers a half-century of Turnley’s life in Paris, tracing his arrival in 1975 through decades of photographing the city alongside a global career that took him to more than 90 countries. Inspired early on by figures such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, André Kertész, Edouard Boubat, and Robert Doisneau—whom he later assisted—Turnley’s work offers a sustained portrait of the city he ultimately made his home.
Attendance is free, and registration is available here.
