Exclusion Zones: How Journalists are Finding Ways to Evade Coverage Restrictions

Governments go to great lengths to keep journalists away from the frontlines of many conflicts. Join us for a conversation on Exclusion Zones, where we’ll hear from reporters who find ways around these restrictions.

They include Mohammed Mhawish, a Palestinian from Gaza who’s covered the war there from both inside and outside the territory. Nilo Tabrizy is an investigative journalist who’s worked extensively with open-source material to report on Iran for The Washington Post and The New York Times. Amel Guettatfi is an Emmy Award-winning Algerian-American documentary filmmaker who’s reported from Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Russia and the Congo.

The panel with be moderated by NPR National Security Correspondent Greg Myre.
