The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, has been the scene of weeks of violent protests following parliamentary elections that brought a pro-Russia party to power. Georgians continue to take to the street to fight for a future tied to Europe, not Russia, and have met a harsh response. Amnesty International is one of many NGOs to criticize the “Georgian government’s strategy to deploy the full machinery of the state to punish and suppress dissent.”
Join three reporters who have been on the ground in Tbilisi to learn more about the protests, the upcoming Presidential election there, and the challenges in covering this particular conflict.
