The Overseas Press Club of America seeks a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Digital Communications & Media Coordinator to manage and execute all aspects of the organization’s digital presence and communications. This part-time contract position supports year-round programming and key annual events, with frequent evening and weekend availability required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage, edit, and publish content for the OPC website and monthly newsletter (the Bulletin)
• Oversee multimedia communications and email campaigns using a professional email service provider
• Maintain and organize member email lists and distribution groups
• Operate Zoom, livestreaming, and in-person AV equipment for OPC programs and events
• Edit and distribute program video content and recaps via web and email
• Write event summaries and news articles for the Bulletin and website
• Administer and grow OPC’s social media presence; track and report performance metrics
• Support proofreading and copyediting for OPC materials
• Coordinate annual tasks including dues invoicing, board elections, awards submissions, and the Annual Awards Dinner multimedia communications and livestream
• Handle all content with a strong sense of digital ethics, ensuring the proper use of proprietary materials such as photographs, videos, and web assets
• Protect sensitive information and member data in accordance with best practices for digital privacy
Qualifications:
• Strong digital publishing and video editing skills
• Familiarity with AV and livestreaming tools
• Excellent writing and editing abilities
• Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp)
• Social media management proficiency
• High journalistic integrity and a deep understanding of ethical standards in media and digital publishing
• Demonstrated ability to manage content responsibly, including privacy, copyright, and attribution protocols
This is a remote-friendly role, though candidates based in New York may have occasional in-person duties. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects on flexible timelines, and committed to upholding the values of transparency, accuracy, and ethical stewardship of digital content.
