Ed Fischer of The Omaha World Herald
Ed Fischer won the award for the incisiveness, journalistic insight, symbolic invention and graphic power of his editorial cartoons. He has been at The Omaha World Herald for six years; previously he was an editorial cartoonist for the Minneapolis Star and Tulsa Tribune. Fischer’s cartoons have been reprinted in Time and U.S. News and World Report, and have also appeared in World Book and Americana encyclopedias. He has received awards from the National Foundation for Highway Safety, U.S. Industrial Council and the Freedoms Foundation.
