In February 1980, the Bill Moyers Journal broadcast a 90-minute program on “The World of David Rockefeller.” As he followed Rockefeller about the world, Moyers put together an unusual and outstanding picture of a personality, events, and how they came together to influence international relationships.

Moyers’ Journal has appeared on public television since 1971, except for two years when he served as editor of CBS Reports. It has won many awards, including three Emmys, the George Forster Peabody Award, and the National Conference of Christians and Jews Mass Media Award. Moyers previously was publisher of Newsday on Long Island, and Special Assistant to President Johnson.

A Citation for Excellence went to Pamela Hill for the ABC News Closeup Series.
