During the siege of the Iranian Embassy in London, Frank Sesno’s radio reporting conveyed tense and explosive situations to the AP radio network. He graphically communicated to his listeners the drama of the British Special Forces raid on the embassy to free the hostages. He interviewed the Scotland Yard Commander, the Commander of the Metro Police, the British Home Secretary, and eyewitnesses to the assault.

Before joining AP, Sesno specialized in documentaries for the Voice of Citations Josh Darsa Frank Fitzmaurice National Public Radio America. With AP Radio, he first served on the Washington news team. Since December 1979, he has been AP Radio’s London-based correspondent, covering NATO, OPEC and Common Market activities, as well as breaking news stories all over Europe.

A citation is awarded to KFWB NEWS RADIO 98 of Los Angeles for its coverage of the Iranian Embassy siege.
