- OPC President Bob Considine MC’ed 16th Annual Awards dinner. Final ticket sales: 1100. This year’s dinner is on April 24.
- In 1955, the OPC staged a radio and TV show for NBC. 1st guest: assistant to Pres Eisenhower. 2nd: V. Krishna Menon.
- For the OPC’s 25th, NYC Mayor Wagner proclaimed the week of April 5-11 OPC week, honoring the Club for services to the community.
- Dinner tickets for the OPC’s 25th were $15 for members and $35 for nonmembers. King Hussein of Jordan attended the dinner.
- In February 1964, Edward R. Murrow was elected to be an OPC member for life by the OPC Board of Governors.
- Pres. Truman on Presidents and the press at the OPC in 1957: Free government cannot exist without freedom of speech and press.
