The lastest in the revolving door that Newsweek has become since Sidney Harman purchased the magazine in August is Lally Weymouth, a special diplomatic correspondent at Newsweek, will join The Washington Post later this month as a senior associate editor.
Other top-level staffers who have left are:
OPC Third Vice President Arlene Getz will take up a new position as Editor in Charge, Media at Thomson Reuters in New York. Getz is currently the Editorial Director for Newsweek‘s worldwide special editions, where she is responsible for the editorial oversight of the magazine’s local-language editions in countries including Turkey, Russia, Poland, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Pakistan.

After nearly 25 years at Newsweek and just a hair under four years as its editor at large, Evan Thomas left to teach journalism at Princeton and he’s got a book on President Dwight D. Eisenhower in the works.
As reported on Business Insider The Wire on September 2, Dan Gross, Newsweek‘s economics editor, is headed to Yahoo Finance
National economics correspondent Michael Hirsh is joining National Journal.
On the web side, Gross follows Newsweek Digital editor Mark Miller (a 25-year veteran who was also the editorial director of the magazine), Newsweek Digital executive editor Gabe Snyder, and Newsweek Digital general manager Geoff Reiss. More than a dozen others have left in recent months.
Meanwhile, Susanna Schrobsdorff, who had most
recently been developing an education vertical for Newsweek.com, has
been named interim editor of Newsweek Digital, sources tell us.
