OPC Secretary Jonathan Dahl Hired to Run News Startup

OPC Secretary Jonathan Dahl, who serves as editor-in-chief of WSJ.Money magazine and executive director of page one at The Wall Street Journal, has been hired to run digital news startup Ozy.

Ozy is the most recent startup to join the ranks of digital news sites like Mashable, Vice and Buzzfeed, which target younger readers.

OPC Board Members Callimachi and Pesta Win Prestigious Journalism Awards

We are thrilled to announce that two OPC board members will
be recognized for outstanding work. OPC board member and New York Times correspondent
Rukmini Callimachi will receive the Marie Colvin Front Page Award for Foreign
Correspondence, and OPC second vice president Abigail Pesta will receive two
Exceptional Merit in Media awards from the National Women’s Political Caucus.

As part of our ongoing interview archive series, the OPC presents a roundtable discussion in Paris with Jim Bittermann, senior European correspondent for CNN since 1996; Mort Rosenblum, a University of Arizona journalism professor formerly with the Associated Press; and retired New York Times cultural correspondent Alan Riding.
